Computer and software history

Cicero (Roman author, orator, & politician - 106 BC - 43 BC) is quoted to have said: "History is the witness that testifies to the passing of time; it illumines reality, vitalizes memory, provides guidance in daily life and brings us tidings of antiquity."

For those interested in the history of computers: The Computer History museum, located here on the Web, is dedicated to preserving and presenting the stories and artifacts of the information age. It was established in 1996 in Mountain View, California, USA. Also checkout videos of the many lectures and events at the museum and historic computer films, hosted on Youtube.

The museum has a special interest group on software history. Besides the history of software since the 1950s it has interesting anecdotes, first person essays, etc.

Keep in mind though, the Website is still in the making.
